Officially Closed

We have officially closed on the old house. It was quite the ordeal yesterday to get everything done. Bank of America couldn't get their act together and get the paperwork to the Title Company. We were supposed to close at 9:00am yesterday and it actually happened at 5:00pm. Danny had to swing by the Title Company on his way to the state swim meet. Athletes in the car waiting for him and everything. He signed a Power of Attorney so I could sign for him since he was going out of town until Saturday. I went and signed the papers on my way to the track meet. Like I said it was a little crazy. Megan - don't let this discourage you in your house buying process :)

I was a little sad the other night when we got the last of the outside stuff from the old house. I was sitting on the deck and it was a gorgeous night and it made me a little sad to leave behind all the hard work that has been done to that house, especially the deck. I guess Dad will have to make another trip to get something built at the new house. Right, Dad?

Now that we have closed on the house we can go get some dining room furniture and stuff for the movie room. Right now we can sit in the movie room and watch a blank wall. We have to figure out what tv we want in there and then surround sound. And who we are going to get to install it all, because that is not a job that we are going to undertake.

I know that a lot of you have been asking for pictures of the new house and I'm sorry I don't have any to post yet. Here's the problem....the last thing I want to do is empty boxes and get stuff organized when I get home, so I don't want to take pictures of boxes laying around everywhere. I'm finally starting to feel better at the end of the day, so hopefully I'll get my act together and get some stuff done around the house so I have it presentable to even take pictures. The other problem is that we don't have the internet at our house yet, so I have to get the pictures to my school computer to even put them on here. I know, I know - these are just excuses. I'll try in the next week!

Look for baby pictures next week. I have my next appointment on Tuesday! Hard to believe I'm 10 weeks already.

Feeling Better

Things are looking up (a little). I have found that if I eat small things throughout the day that I feel much better. Not great - but better. I also had to change my morning routine and eat breakfast right when I get up instead of in the car on the way to work. I still have good days and bad days but at least there are some good days. It is crazy to think that I only have 16 more days in my 1st trimester. From what everyone has told me I will start feeling a lot better in about 2 weeks. I have my next dr. appointment next Tuesday, so I should have some more pictures and maybe even a video to add to the blog.

Here comes the "morning" sickness

Although the secret is pretty much out the kids that Danny and I teach and coach do not know about the baby yet. I think it is way too early for that! Maybe after Spring Break. Anyway, because they don't know I had to come up with a reason why I wasn't going to play in the annual student/faculty basketball game. I decided to just call in sick...apparently karma had other ideas because I spent most of the day on the couch eating crakers and drinking orange pop. It was the only thing that sounded good. I have felt crummy ever since. Hopefully it will be better by next week. We have a 3 day weekend so I have another day to hope it goes away. It isn't the flu that is going around....this is 100% baby. Which by the way "morning" is just a relative term. I guess it sounds better than just sickness :)

For those of you looking for new house pictures, I'm sorry. I just haven't gotten around to it. Curled up on the couch with a blanket seems so much more appealing lately. Hopefully this weekend I will get some taken.

Moved In!

We spent our first night in the new house last night. We got almost everything moved yesterday. We still have some small stuff and clothes over there. The only big stuff is the grill and patio furniture. We don't close on the old house until the 26th so it isn't a huge hurry. We still don't have Internet at the new house so I'm posting on my phone. Once I'm at a computer I'll post some pictures. We LOVE the house and can't wait for you to come visit!

Written, Visual Confirmation by a Medical Professional

I couldn't resist using "written, visual confirmation by a medical professional" as the title to this post. Danny has been using this phrase for the last 3 weeks and it was a relief yesterday when we actually got it. I'm sure that you have looked at the pictures and can see what I am talking about. Little Baby Huffman will be here at the end of September! We are super excited! My first appointment was yesterday and we were able to see the heartbeat, but we couldn't hear it just yet. It made it all seem a little more real when we could see the little one and the heart fluttering. The doctor said that everything looks great and that if there was a "perfect sonogram" this would be it. Of course, Danny's translation of that was, "Did you hear that? He called our baby perfect!"

On the right side of this picture you can see the little heart beating (the little wavey line).

I have been feeling pretty good except I am exhausted all the time. I can take a nap from 5pm - 7pm and still be good to go to bed by 9. I really haven't had any morning sickness, just had a few days when I haven't felt very good.

I have my next appointment on March 3rd and will have another sonogram. He is going to finalize the DVD that he started recording yesterday so we will have a copy of both sonograms.

I really like my doctor. He told me that he gets paid the same whether I come in 3 times or 20 times so call and/or make an appointment whenever I feel like I need to. He said the same thing about the sonograms...pays the same if we do it once or once a month. That was nice to hear, so hopefully I'll have lots of pictures between now and September.

That is all for now - I'll update house pictures next week! We move on Saturday!

New House Closing

We closed on our new house on Thursday, but weren't able to get into the house until late last night. The seller's technically had 72 hours to move out because there was a lease clause in our contract. The would have been today (Sunday) at 3:00, but our realtor told us that if we drove by and there were no cars in the driveway and the house was empty then we could go in.

We went last night after dinner with the Hubbard's around 10:00 and they were gone. We spent about 45 minutes enjoying the fact that we owned the house now and figuring out where we were going to put stuff and what the painter was going to paint, etc. We plan on bringing some stuff over there today and putting it in the garage until the painters are done and the carpets are cleaned. All of that will be done by Friday and we will move everything from the old house on Saturday.

I will post before and after pictures soon!

We have an offer!!

We got an offer on our house Thursday morning and have accepted it. Less than what we were asking, but more than what we were willing to take. They did an inspection yesterday, but we haven't heard anything from the buyer at this point. I'm thinking we will hear something today because she is wanting to get it done quickly since she is going to Hawaii on Wednesday for vacation. If everything works out with the inspection we will close on February 26th and won't ever have to pay two house payments!
