Latest Appointment

I had a dr appointment Monday morning and here are the latest pictures. He confirmed that it was a girl, which is good since the pink stuff was adding up quickly. She is measuring right on schedule for her late September appearance.

He did diagnose me with placenta previa, but wasn't too concerned about it at this point because I am only 18 weeks. As long as there is no bleeding then I'm good and I haven't had any so that is good. The good news about that diagnoses is that he will have to check on it at my next appointment which means another ultrasound! Hopefully all will be good by then.

I think I have felt her kick, but I'm not 100% sure. Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll be able to tell for sure.

Here is a face picture...you can even make out her eyebrow.

Here she is showing off her toes

Swine Flu Outbreak

I'm not sure if this has become as big a deal up North as it has in Texas, but just wanted you to know that neither of us are sick. Our district did make the decision to cancel quite a few things including all swimming until May 11th or further notice. Fort Worth closed all schools until May 11th as well. Not sure what ours will decide to do, but as of now we are open. I just heard at lunch that there are 4 probable cases in our district so that may change.

I have sick days that I can use if I want to but don't have plans to unless I notice that kids around me are coughing, sneezing, etc. Our school nurse told me today she would be more worried about me if we had a case of chicken pox on campus...at least at this point. So for now it is business as usual without swim practice.

Visitors

Dad and I were able to pull off Mom's birthday surprise on Wednesday. He flew in about an hour before Mom's plane landed and we were both waiting for her at the baggage claim. He was sitting right next to me and she didn't even realize it until she was almost all the way to our seats. She even happened to see Ron at the gas station. Luckily, he hadn't picked up Dad at work yet or they would have had a lot of explaining to do. Grandma and Grandpa also stopped by on their way back to Wisconsin. It was great to see them. We all went out to dinner at Texas Roadhouse Wednesday night. We drove them (took two cars) to North Fort Worth on Thursday morning so they wouldn't have to worry about driving in traffic. Once they headed North we went to Cabella's for a few hours. I know that surprises most of you that we visited Cabella's while Dad was here :)

Friday night we went to Hibachi for dinner. The food was great and it is always fun watching them cook your dinner in front of you.

Saturday we hit some garage sales in the neighborhood and found some cute clothes for all the grandkids - including the one that isn't here yet!

Saturday night we invited some people over to the house to celebrate Mom's BIG 6-0! The guys watched the Mavs game up in the "Man Cave" - that is what Dad has named the movie room, the girls were downstairs and Kami & her friend took the kids to the park. We had a great time!

We took Mom and Dad to the airport on Sunday morning then went home and crashed. I think we both took a 2+ hour nap. The baby is my excuse for the long nap, I'm not sure what excuse Danny has :)

We look forward to Mom, Jessica and the kids coming in June for a week. I'm going to try and get up to Wisconsin/Minnesota this summer in late June/early July, but I have to wait and see what my dr. says. I would like to stay for a couple weeks and enjoy some pregnant Wisconsin summer instead of pregnant Texas summer, but I'm not sure when I will have to start going to the doctor every 2 weeks. I have an appointment on Monday so we'll see what he says.

About that appointment....we are hoping the ultrasounds confirms that girl he told us at the last appointment. We don't have a reason to think otherwise, but it does make me a little nervous because her room is filling with pink quickly. Think Pink!

I should have more pictures next week.

Updates!

Last week was very crazy because we were hosting the District Track meet and I was in charge of all the meet entries and heat sheets. This is no small task when there are 7 schools. Needless to say that consumed most of my free time and I wasn't able to update the blog.

The most important thing that happened last week was I had another dr. appointment on Monday. I was able to bat my eyelashes and smile and he did another ultrasound. I think he would have done one anyway though because he tried to hear the baby's heartbeat on the doppler and wasn't able to find it. But anyway, all of that to get to the fact that IT'S A GIRL!!

I was 14 weeks and 2 days which is earlier than they would normally do a gender ultrasound, but he was pretty convinced that it was a girl. He did say he had the right to take it back in 4 weeks when he did another one, but like I said he was pretty sure so we are going with that. So much so that we are painting pink. We had the painters scheduled to come this Wednesday to do the upstairs bedrooms anyway, so the worst that could happen is we have to have him come back and paint blue over the pink. Not the end of the world, right? Here is another picture. She was quite active so he had to be quick to catch the pictures, but you can see her spine in this one.

The weekend before last we made a trip up to IKEA and found some stuff for the game room and media room. We also found dining room furniture and it is being delivered on Wednesday. I ordered baby room furniture and it should be here in the next week as well - except for the crib that is on back order until the end of May :( With all that the house if finally coming together. It's actually starting to look like we actually live there instead of just moved in.

We are looking forward to Mom visiting next week. She gets in on Wednesday night and will be here until Sunday. We are also hoping that Grandma and Grandpa Miller are able to stop by on their way home from South Texas. It will be nice to see all of them.
