28 Week Belly Picture

This was taken at the 4th of July Parade in Siren, Wisconsin. Anna needed a little help getting her freeze pop opened.

Sorry it's been so long!

It's been a busy month for us. Mom, Jessica and the kids came down to visit on June 20th and stayed for a week. We spent a lot of time at the pool. The kids got really good at "swimming" by the end of the week. Caden was swimming in the deep end without his life jacket after the 2nd day. Makayla wouldn't even jump in at all the first day and by the end she was jumping in and we were counting how long she could hold her breath.

While they were her a friend on mine took some pictures. They turned out so well.

Wednesday we went to Fossil Rim which is basically a zoo that you drive through. We all had a lot of fun feeding the animals that came up to the car. Lots of different types of deer, zebras, giraffe, rinos, cheetahs. Of course the rinos and cheetahs didn't actually come up to the car. The were in a caged area that you could see from your car. As you can see from these pictures they come into your car. The first time it happened Caden and Makayla kept saying, "The deer is in the car, the deer is in the car!" I'm not sure if it was fear or amazement I could hear in their voices. After the first time though all loved feeding the animals. Cole sat on Grandma's lap while she was driving for a lot of the trip and the other two were in front with me or Jessica. It was pretty much musical chairs throughout the trip.

Friday morning we all left for Wisconsin. I decided to ride back with them so I only had to buy a one-way ticket home. We left about 6:30am and got to Jessica's about 1:00am Saturday morning. It wasn't a bad drive at all. The kids were so good for the whole trip.

Cole was amazed at what he could see when I reclined my seat to take a nap. His facial expressions always seem to make me laugh!

Saturday we planned on going to Caden's baseball game, but the weather had different ideas. It was rained out. Mom, Makayla, Cole and I headed back to Luck and met Grandma and Grandpa and my cousin's family at the Milltown Fisherman's Party for lunch.

Sunday brought some unplanned events. I woke up in the morning with some bleeding. After calling my hospital, a couple friends who are nurses and my friend Kim that is also pregnant, we headed for the St. Croix hospital. They placed me on the monitors and her heartbeat was in normal range and I could hear her moving. This definitley helped me to breathe a little easier. They ran some tests, did an ultrasound to check the placenta and my kidneys. Everything looked normal, but the doctor decided to admit me overnight just to be sure. She actually told me that they usually keep people for 48 hours when that happens. I had some more tests Monday morning and I was released Monday night. They couldn't really tell me the reason, but placed me on modified bed rest for 2 weeks (the entire time I was up there). Basically, no heavy lifting and spending 6 hours (2 morning, 2 afternoon, 2 evening) throughout the day on the couch. I was breaking all the rules of Wii by playing with the kids from the couch. My regular doctor told me to continue the restrictions until I have my appointment which is this coming Monday. I don't spend the entire 6 hours, but I do rest several times a day and haven't had any problems since I first went to the ER.

The rest of my vacation was spent between Luck and New Richmond. I was able to see 2 of Caden's baseball games, went out to Grandma and Grandpas for a pontoon ride and bonfire, spent a couple days up at the cabin with Janelle, Dave, Alisha and Anna. One time my cousins Jared, Jerame and Jared's wife Melissa were there and another time my cousin Nicolle, her husband Chris and their little boy, Lucas were there. The reason for the bolding is because Jared loves being mentioned in other people's blogs.

Caden was so excited to be able to play catcher at this game.

Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa and I made a trip to see Aaron and Renee in Wausau on July 5th. They moved into a new house this winter, it was nice to see it. It's perfect for them... Aaron has a garage and a pole shed to work on all his projects and Renee is trying to make sense of all the flowers (or weeds) that have bloomed since they moved in.

While I was in Wisconsin Danny was busy supporting the family by coaching swimming. He had two different swim meets while I was gone as well as practice everyday. As he would say, "somebody's gotta work around here" (jokingly, of course).

I flew back on Saturday and we went out for our anniversary since he had a swim meet on Sunday. We went to The Melting Pot. Neither of us had been to a fondue place before, it was really fun. It was a little pricey, but worth it for a special occasion.

Since I've been back we haven't really done a whole lot. I had to take the 3 hour glucose test on Wednesday. I got the results back today and everything was fine. Thank goodness, gestational diabetes was not something I was wanting to deal with. There is just something wrong about taking away certain foods from a pregnant lady.

I will be 30 weeks tomorrow and have my appointment on Monday. After that I will start going every 2 weeks! January sounds like so long ago, but on the other hand the last 7 months have flown by. We can't wait to actually hold Kennedy in September!

My cousin, Janelle, took a cute belly shot at the 4th of July. I'll post it when she sends it to me.

Finished Patio!

Here are some pictures of the completed patio. We are still working on planting some trees and puttting decomposed granite in the back part by the fence.

Here is a picture from the back door

Here are a few others. We can't wait to have company to help us enjoy it.

New Patio

We have been talking about what we wanted to do with the backyard since we moved in February. We finally did something about it this week. I contacted someone on Saturday evening and he was out in less than an hour to look at it. He said he could start on Monday, but then ended up calling back later that night to see if he could start digging up the grass and mulch on Sunday. Of course, I said sure!! Two guys came out on Sunday and got the ground ready and were going to start the rock, but a flat tire on their trailer prevented that from happening. They showed up bright an early on Monday morning with the materials and 4 more guys and got to work. They did most of the work yesterday and are finishing up right now. It looks great.

This is a picture I just took through the back door window....didn't want them to think I was crazy taking pictures of them working :)

Anyway, they are working on one last section and filling the gaps with sand and then they will be done. Not bad for 2 1/2 days work...more than we would have ever gotten done on our own, plus it is so much nicer to watch the progress from the comforts of the air conditioning!

I will post completed pictures once we get the patio furniture on it and stuff, possibly later tonight or tomorrow.

We can't wait to actually use it tomorrow night when friends are coming over and then next week while Mom, Jessica and the kids are here!

23 Week Appointment

I'm sorry this is going to be short, but I have a lot of things to do before the end of the school year. My appointment on Thursday went well. They are no longer calling it previa, but instead are classifying it as low-lying. They are hoping that it continues to move up in the next few weeks. I go again on June 23rd for the lovely glucose test. Fun times!! Good thing I like orange stuff!

Here are a few ultrasound pictures that were taken.

21 Week Picture

These pictures were taken last Wednesday when I was 21 1/2 weeks.

The school year is winding down and we only have 8 days with kids left. The countdown to the end of the year is a little different for me this year since I have resigned and will be staying home for at least next year. Hopefully it will be more than that, but we will see what next summer brings. I have yet to start packing up my stuff from the past 10 years. I guess I better get on that. Next Friday will be here before I know it. It will be bitter sweet. I really do love my job and the people I work with, but am super excited about staying home with our new bundle of joy next year.

My next appointment is this Thursday. We are looking forward to seeing how much she has grown since last month.

Lots of Kicks

This weekend she decided to make her presence known. She was kicking a lot yesterday. So much so that I could feel her on the outside too. Unfortunately, Danny was at a swim meet all day yesterday and by the time he got home she was worn out and must have been sleeping. It is definitely weird to be able to feel her on the outside as well as the inside now.

I have an appointment next week so I should have more pictures. And hopefully he will say the placenta previa is no longer an issue.
